The people behind your practice

Teaching, as we see it, is a conversation rather than a performance.

Our approach

We watch before we speak

We are not there to count repetitions. We watch how you move, pay attention to what your body is telling us, and respond to it precisely and without any fuss.

No two clients are the same, and no two sessions are either, which is a large part of why the work stays worth doing.

The team

Alexandra, sitting on a reformer with a Pilates ball

Alexandra

Instructor

Alexandra came to Pilates from competitive figure skating, which she trained in from childhood through adolescence, and the years on the ice left her with the eye for alignment that now shapes how she teaches. She certified in Mat and Reformer at Body Athletica in Bali, where the training covered anatomy and movement principles alongside the practical work of cueing and correction. She has taught privately and in groups of four and five since, which is the format the work suits her best in.

Her teaching is close work, built on clear verbal cueing and hands-on correction, and she adapts a sequence to the people in front of her rather than running a class to a plan settled in advance. Where a client arrives carrying an injury, the posture of a long desk job, or a long absence from any kind of movement, the emphasis falls first on breath, alignment and safe technique, and the rest follows once those hold.

Whether it is your first Pilates session or you have been practising for much longer, her aim is to make every class feel challenging, purposeful and rewarding.

She is Slovak, read international development at Mendel University in Brno with an Erasmus year at the University of Girona, and has since lived and worked in Slovenia, Mexico and Dubai; she teaches in English.
